El Tucan / Brickell Flatiron / Echo Brickell / update website

November is known to be Miami Live Month. Hence our suggestion of live music and entertainment and a bunch of fresh updates!

EL TUCAN BAR

El Tucan Bar is a modern-day cabaret paying homage to 1940s’ Cuba jazz era & a cocktail lounge. The theater-style venue is located in Brickell and presents 2 live music and entertainment shows Thursday through Saturday, respectively at 8PM and 11PM.

For $85, you get the full dinner and show experience. Waiters are elegantly dressed up and serve you in a very professional manner to make sure that you fully enjoy the show. They offer you 9 courses – crafted by chef Gabriel Horta - along the show: all luxe libations have an Amazonian or Latin flair. Taste the Cape Gooseberries Salad with Wild Amazonian Herbs and the Portuguese Octopus. What about enjoying it along a signature cocktail created by Jean Paul Lourdes, made of fresh lychee and watermelon juice?

Not only the show was breathtaking and a true enjoyment, Will Smith was also sitting at the table next to me! He started doing an improvisation with all the comedians, singers and dancers. It was definitely one night to remember!

BRICKELL PRECONSTRUCTIONS

- Flatiron

Designer Julian Schnabel, Architect Ugo Colombo and Capital Group join forces to develop another stunning high-end tower - Brickell Flatiron. 40,000 sqft of Brickell Flatiron will be devoted to exciting retail and restaurant spaces. With 19 floors of parking and top entertainment provided, Brickell Flatiron follows the steps of the Epic, which managed to combine hotel life, a great dining scene and residential indulgence. The Brickell Flatiron sits at the core of Miami’s hottest residential markets. The design praises contrast, blending Schnabel’s broken ceramic plates in Colombo’s sleek lines.

The condo will stand at the north of the Metromover rails, next to Flatiron Park. Its name comes from its shape, resembling the old-fashioned clothing flatirons. It is obviously also associated with the iconic Flatiron building in Manhattan. As compared to its New Yorker homonym, it will offer outstanding views from its large elliptical balconies and glass walled interior living spaces. Besides an outdoor lap pool on the 18th floor, a gracious swimming pool will be set on the rooftop. If you are interested in buying at want to invest in a condo at the Flatiron, you will choose between 1, 2 or 3 bedroom units, all furniture ready and equipped top-of-the-line appliances.

- Echo Brickell

Renowned architect Carlos Ott partners with Property Markets Group for Echo Brickell. Its flame-like silhouette carries spacious glass terraces on every side of the building. In the middle of the tower, the façade breaks to insert a pool surface, skyrocketing 300 ft high. It creates a 3-story open space, including an infinity-edge pool, a spectacular gym and spa over the cityscape views. Below lay 1 and 2 bedroom units. Above, 2 and 3 bedroom units as well as penthouse residences.

4 elevators will serve the 179 units of Echo Brickell. Such a small amount of units for a tower in Brickell makes Echo Brickell very chic and exclusive. Residences will be delivered ready for your furnishings, with flooring and wall color options suggested by Carlos Ott. Ceiling heights begin at 10 feet.

Technology is one of the greatest asset of the building. You will be able to set the mood with lighting options controlled by centralized Apple-based iHome technology that also serves as your audio and visual command center. The cutting edge technology at Echo Brickell continues with the building security system and even robotic parking options. The 2 main assets? Parking and technology!

TIRAMESU

Long-standing TiramesU recently closed on Lincoln Road to re-open in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth at 101 Washington Avenue. The new menu offers a “modern twist” on Italian Chef Fabrizio Pintus’ cuisine as they say. If you go, you are up for a cosy atmosphere, a great selection of cocktails and homemade pastas with a Latin touch.

The dining room mixes the new and the old with industrial pendant lights, antique metal appliques from the 1901 Milan-Paris train and a contemporary travertine bar top. TiramesU originally opened its doors in 1988 on Ocean Drive and 5th Street with the idea of opening an authentic Italian restaurant where you could find homemade pastas or even saffron risotto. TiramesU’s new menu is the culmination of the Chef’s passion. If I were you, I would go for the Kale Fettucine and Rabbit Ragout or the Ravioli cooked in Bone Narrow Jus!

SEED, FOOD & WINE

Imagine a festival that is all about having a healthy lifestyle. After its inauguration last year, the conversation this year will focus on conscious plant-based living. What is this all about? Launching a festival for vegan foodies that talks to the Miami crowd, i.e. being hip and inclusive. What if you are not even vegetarian? You will be pleased and find your own ways if you are interested in eating healthier, learning about meditation or becoming more conscious overall.

The organizers gather a team of holistic healers, talk about veggie cleanse, herbal medicine and yoga. It is exciting to see this new interest coming to Miami, with the multiplication of plant-based, farm-to-tale and organic restaurants.

If you want to check it out, it will be on from November 18th to 22nd.
