What's the fuzz about Panama? |
|
|
|
|
Donald Trump has the answer.
Developers are betting that Panama becomes
the next great condo heaven for both investors
and retirees.
Everyone seems to be talking about Panama
real estate these days. What's happening
truly amazing. The country in investing over
$5B in a canal-widening project, plus they
continue to make the country a great place for
Americans to call their next home. The official
currency is the U.S. dollar, the official
language is English and the GDP is growing at
a tremendous pace.
The Trump Ocean Club is one of the greatest
new projects anywhere. It's a 2.6M square
foot complex, with a 66-story tower that offers
600 residences and 300 hotel suites. And,
there is a casino.
Condos start at about $500,000 and are
selling at light-speed. Condo fees are a
fraction of what they would be in the US, and
there are many tax incentives in place, some
that even eliminate taxes for the first few years
of ownership.
If this project interests you, please contact me
at daniela@condoideas.com. I have very
limited inventory at day-one prices. You need
a 10% deposit now, 10% in 30 days and
another 10% over the next 12 months.

Indian cemetary doesn't stop developer on Brickell Avenue |
|
|
|
|
The search for human remains and ancient
artifacts at a Brickell Avenue development site
may be coming to an end this month, and the
developers who own the property have been
cleared to build a 12-unit condominium project.
On Tuesday 3rd of July, the city of Miami's
Historic and Environmental Preservation Board
unanimously granted IERI, Inc., approval to
develop its property at 1814 Brickell Ave.,
despite the discovery of an Indian burial
ground on the property.
In 2004, IERI bought the lot and two behind it
with visions of building a high-end
condominium just 1,000 feet from Biscayne
Bay in one of Miami's wealthiest
neighborhoods.
In March, an archaeologist hired by the
developer discovered two human leg bones.
Miami laws require preconstruction
archaeological explorations in the Brickell area
as well as others, and state laws require an
assessment of any site where human remains
are discovered.
Since then, Robert Carr of Archaeological and
Historical Conservancy, Inc., and a team of
workers have scoured the site, finding fire pits,
animal bones and other artifacts.
Carr also has a number of findings from the
site in his Davie office, including the head of a
hammer made from a conch shell, and a
medicine bottle, which Carr believes to have
once belonged to soldiers from the Spanish-
American War.
The Brickell site is one of several Miami
locations where evidence of cemeteries have
been discovered. The site is dubbed Santa
Maria West, because it lies opposite from the
Santa Maria condominium, where human
bones were discovered. Carr and others also
found bones at the Miami Circle, which lies at
the south bank of the Miami River's mouth.
Carr said any remains found will be reburied
near an oak tree to the north of the property.
All other finds will be donated to the Historical
Museum of Southern Florida.
